Eroticism is a concept that is fluid. What is deemed erotic changes by culture and the time where people live in. This is the reason why eroticism gets mostly confused with pornography. Though still debated amongst people, to me eroticism is different from pornography.
Something that I want to do with my work is making the distinction more clear between eroticism and pornography.
Pornography is a way of focusing on having sex in the form of art. Eroticism focuses on everything that surrounds sex(uality). Eroticism is a way of focusing on the aesthetics of sexual desire, sensuality and romantic love.
Eroticism also represents the love and beauty that we as humans feel sexually for each other. Therefore erotic art is a way of sharing the beauty and love of humankind.
