Glamour photography is a genre of photography in which the models are portrayed in romantic poses fully clothed to even nude. Photographers use a combination of cosmetics, lighting and more to produce an appealing image of the model. Nudity can be a part of this type of photography but without erotic tones. It is clearly distinctive from pornography where sexual contact is the main theme and goal.
Glamour photography has been slowly used for commercial use since the 50s. Since the 90s and 2010 it has grown extremely and it has become very popular in the use of commercials and social media.
Something that we want to do with our work is to present a more female perspective on glamour photography. In this industry a lot of man have made their mark on this type of art and content. Run by a female entrepreneur, Esther Visions aims to give their material a more ‘female touch’. Thus we hope to give a more unique and female perspective on how to portray women in the industry.
